Hypericum perforatum
"St John's wort is a medium of transmission—a point where landscape, memory, care, ritual, and the body, past and present, this world and the other, intersect."
The Hypericum perforatum educational programme explores the theme of memory through Monika Pascoe Mikyšková's exhibition Memories That Become Mine. Its starting point is the artist's own memory of gathering St John's wort (Hypericum perforatum), a medicinal plant that becomes a powerful thread connecting personal experience, tradition, and place.
Memory is where our experiences are stored. It exists not only in our minds but also in gestures and repeated actions that endure long after their original meaning has faded.
Participants are invited to share their own memories, becoming part of a collective memory created by weaving coloured ribbons together. Each ribbon is accompanied by a painting, drawing, or written reflection inspired by the memory it represents, creating a shared installation shaped by individual stories.
The activities take place in the garden of Koppel Villa and are connected to the exhibition Memories That Become Mine.
The programme is adapted to the age and specific needs of each participant group.
Duration: 60–90 minutes
