The solo exhibition of intermedia artist and stage designer Juraj Poliak presents an unconventional form of display, created through the transformation of a theatrical project into a gallery environment. The exhibited works were originally developed as stage design for the production of the same title, presented at the Slovak National Theatre in 2017, based on a concept by Austrian playwright Bernhard Studlar. However, they do not represent stage design in its traditional sense, but rather form an integral part of the performance’s dramaturgical and conceptual structure.
Through works that create an immersive audiovisual environment, visitors become active participants in the process of shaping an interactive installation. The exhibition unfolds as a space for searching for balance, tension, and their temporary release, exploring the possibility of a symbolic “truce” within contemporary social relationships.
