What remains present in a space even when we are not paying attention to it? And who does a place we have grown accustomed to thinking of as our own actually belong to?

There Is No Solitude in a Landscape That Breathes with You is a solo exhibition by Slovak-Ukrainian interdisciplinary artist Kasha Potrohosh. It is based on the idea of space as something that does not belong to humans alone, but is shared with other forms of life and materials that contribute to shaping it. Their presences encounter and influence one another, while each retains its own mode of existence. The exhibition approaches space as a site of layering, memory, and recurring presence. It draws attention to relationships that usually remain at the margins of perception and asks what else contributes to shaping the world we consider our own.

Kasha Potrohosh is a Slovak-Ukrainian interdisciplinary artist based in Bratislava and Ostrava and a graduate of the Department of Intermedia at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava. Her practice encompasses performance, textile techniques, participatory art, and other intermedia forms. Drawing on the folklore and ritual traditions of Central and Eastern Europe, she explores corporeality, community, our relationship with nature, and the political potential of ritual through feminist and socially critical perspectives.
